Gayana Eco Resort is located at the edges of Gaya, a lush coral reef Island off  the Borneo coast. It takes few minutes by a ferry from Kota Kinabalu to reach the resort. The Eco-resort has 52 over-water individual villas which are designed to enhance the noise of ocean below while holding the abiding vistas of Mount Kinabalu on the horizon. Gayana Eco resort is the only property which has its own Marine Ecology Research Center which works towards the propagation of Giant Clams and restoration of natural coral reefs.  Staying at Gayana Eco Resort, you can also be a part of  the activities to bring back the vibrant ocean life in its own natural form. The resort is completely devoted on the conservation of marine life and it has set up its own laboratory. This way it has created an authentic simulated habitat of unusual  fish species, corals and clam holding reserves and an educative auditorium.

Gayana Eco Resort captures the panoramic view of Mount Kinabalu as it is located on a secluded island. Nature and other outdoor activities are highly recommended on this island like trekking, kayaking and diving. The colorful coral reefs of Gayana attract divers from all over the world. The reefs are home to clown fish, sea turtles, barracuda and other unique species. Guests are also offered trips to Kota Kinabalu, Hornbill Beach and Gaya Street Market. Other activities include surfing, sunset cruises, snorkeling, fish feeding and coral painting.

Accommodation consists of 44 rooms which are classified as Jungle View, Mangrove View, Lagoon View, Ocean View and Palm Villa.  The villas have modern amenities which include Internet, mini bar, in-house movies etc.

The resort also houses a restaurant named Macac which satisfies diners with its delicious Western cuisine.  Guests can enjoy meals in a cozy atmosphere overlooking the infinity pool of the resort on one side and the jungle on the other side. The Macac has its own wood fire oven for creating grilled fish dishes and pizzas as well.There is a famous over-water outlet, the Alu Alu Chinese Seafood restaurant which gives a twist to the traditional delights. It serves fresh seafood produced at the onsite farm of the resort. Gayana Resort in Kota Kinabalu also has a pool designed for kids and also a Jacuzzi. The resort has its Solace Spa which exhibits luxurious massage treatments and facials.  Cocktails organised by the Latitude Bar is one of their highlights as guests can enjoy sunset over the dignified peaks of Mt. Kinabalu.  The property has a complimentary shuttle service.  Gayana resort also organizes wedding services and concierge services.
